1) Tell us a little about yourself. What inspired you to chase after your dream?
I am the daughter of immigrants. I am a Filipina American, born and raised in the SF East Bay Area Currently, I live in Vegas with my husband and son, a curious fourth grader. I identify as a social justice warrior who believes that self-care is an act of resistance and that practicing health and wellness is one of the greatest forms of love.
2) What does living a balanced life mean to you? Do you believe that balance truly exists or is it more of a dance?
I'm not sure if balance is ever truly possible, but I do believe in integration. Integrating work life, home life and health is possible but challenging to manage. It all takes work and a certain amount of planning and organization to achieve. The rest of it is purely remembering that God and the universe has our backs and that everything is working for us, whether we realize it in the moment or not.
3) How do you recharge your inner battery when the going gets tough? What has been one of your biggest struggles during 2020 and how did you overcome it?
Struggle is an important and unshakeable part of the hustle. When I'm feeling challenged (which I have a lot during 2020), I reach out to the amazing support system I've been blessed with. I intentionally surround myself with bad ass, courageous, intelligent souls that I'm constantly learning and growing with. I maintain a spiritual practice that consists of exercise, meditation, mindful eating, personal development and chocolate. When I'm having a really bad day- I turn to Dave Chappelle and he reminds me that laughter is medicine.
